How To Measure
Please read carefully and follow these simple measuring guidelines:
is to take a 5/8" open end wrench and place it on the hose nut that attaches the supply hose to the supply valve.
If it fits, then you have a standard 3/8" compression-type valve and hose.
If you do not have a 5/8" open end wrench or it does not fit proceed below.
3/8" Compression (most common), 1/2" Compression (not very common), 1/2" NPT (rare).
To determine which one you need follow these very simple instructions.
1. Take out a ruler, a piece of scrap paper and a pair of scissors.
2. Cut a strip of paper approximately 3/8" wide.
3. Cut off a piece of the strip EXACTLY - 2 & 1/4" long.
"Your life is about to change for the better!"
4. Go to your "Toliet Supply Shut-Off Valve". Where the "Toilet Supply Line" from the water tank connects
to the shut off valve there is a nut, wrap the strip of paper around this nut (see the pictures below).
If the strip meets end to end or overlaps a little then, bingo, you need a 3/8" Compression adapter.
If the strip is too short and there is a large gap (approximately 3/8" long or longer) then bango, you need a 1/2" adapter
(Note: our 1/2" adapter includes both the 1/2" compression and the 1/2" NPT reducer fittings plus a new supply hose)

If the paper strip meets, BINGO, you have a standard 3/8 toilet supply fitting.
